I spent some time up in Park City this weekend scouting locations for some upcoming family portraits I have scheduled. The afternoon on Saturday was mostly overcast but as the sun dipped behind the Wasatch mountain range, the clouds broke up and I dropped by the old McPolin dairy farm. The dairy farm was restored back in 1993 in preparation for the Olympics and stands now as a well recognized icon. Some will boast it is the most photographed barn in the U.S.!

I strapped on my snowshoes, grabbed my tripod and camera and cut across the field to the north of the barn to catch this image before the dusk light faded. The barn is a fun location to visit and makes for a scenic setting and backdrop for portraits of any occasion. A wide angle fisheye was used to capture this image which includes the rolling snow fields and small creek which borders the property. Their is a small wooden bridge to the west which crosses the creek and provides access to the property and would make a fine spot to frame a sitting.
I hope to return here again for some family or bridal portraits and will be sure to keep you updated with shots from future visits. If you haven’t made a stop here and plan to be in the area, I’d recommend carving out a few minutes in your schedule for a visit. It will be worth the visit!
